LGBT Community Engagement

We speak LGBT.
If your company or organization wants to engage with the LGBT market, WriteAway can help.

WriteAway Communications Services is proudly part of the LGBT community throughout the state of California and nationwide. We understand the sometimes heightened sensitivities as well as the fierce loyalty and tremendous buying power the LGBT market represents. We know how to communicate in the LGBT market respectfully and effectively, and how and where to tell your story to reach this increasingly important demographic.

WriteAway is proud to be certified by the National Lesbian Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) as an LGBT Business Enterprise. Owner Bonnie Osborn has been an advocate for LGBT equality since the early 1980s in Columbia, Missouri, where she helped produce the monthly Coming Out Newsletter.

Since its founding in 2004, WriteAway has provided communications services to LGBT organizations and causes, including the Sacramento Rainbow Chamber of Commerce, L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center, Sacramento Gay & Lesbian Center, Sacramento Gay Men’s Chorus, Los Angeles-based Gay & Lesbian Elder Housing, and Sacramento Pride.

Owner Bonnie Osborn is past president of the Sacramento Rainbow Chamber of Commerce, a chamber board member since 2006, and advocates for LGBT-owned businesses nationally as an active member of NGLCC. During her tenure as Rainbow Chamber president, Bonnie was among community leaders whose work resulted in the creation of LGBT-supportive voting districts for Sacramento City Council and Sacramento County Board of Supervisors. She and other Chamber leaders worked with Assemblymember Roger Dickinson to pass AB 1960, the first state law in the U.S. to require collection of data on LGBT-owned businesses who contract business with the state. She is a frequent contributing writer for Sacramento’s Outword Magazine.
